Riskplaza is an initiative of the bakery chain. There was a need for more information about possible risks of ingredients and measures to control these risks. This information is collected in Riskplaza. In addition to the bakery chain, various sectors are affiliated to Riskplaza, which has meant that the database has been expanded with several ingredients.
The new Riskplaza organisation was established on 1 January 2014 as an independent association (Stichting Brancheoverleg Riskplaza; Riskplaza Sector Consultation Association).
Experts and stakeholders from different sectors of the food industry and certifying bodies (CBs) consult each other at Stichting Brancheoverleg Riskplaza. These parties arrive at a ‘joint truth’ during regular consultation instances; they determine the raw material risks and control measures. They immediately determine what will be included in the database. In addition, the association determines the content of the audit regulations for the Audit+ standard. Through an independent system expert, the association supervises the quality of the CB audits.
The association’s board consists of four persons and is composed of representatives from the CBs and the sectors, an independent third party and an independent chairperson. The board took its seat officially in September 2014. In addition to the board there is a Sector Board that acts as a consultation and advisory body. The affiliated sectors are, for example, represented in the Sector Board.
These companies are appreciative of what Riskplaza does and are viewed as ambassadors.
